Web Development

nonprofit child care website..

Bilingual WordPress website for a California child care nonprofit.

the problem.

CDR is a nonprofit that helps families through Head Start, Early Head Start, and seven different child care assistance programs. A website like this carries a lot of information, and it serves two very different groups — parents looking for help, and child care providers managing contracts and payments. The challenge was clear: organize a large amount of content so each group can quickly find exactly what they need, without feeling lost.

what I built.

I designed and built the website on WordPress. I structured the whole site around its two main audiences, with separate Parents and Providers sections, each holding its own programs, resources, forms, and announcements.

I built a clear multi-level menu so people can reach any program in a click or two, and a large, categorized FAQ system that answers the many detailed questions families and providers ask.

The site is set up in both English and Spanish to serve the local community, with program pages, locations, a blog, and a careers section all kept easy to navigate. The focus throughout was clarity — making a big, information-heavy site simple to use.

the result.

CDR has a website that turns a large, complex set of programs into something families and providers can actually navigate. The split Parents and Providers sections send each visitor straight to what matters to them, the categorized FAQs cut down on phone calls by answering questions up front, and the bilingual setup makes the site accessible to the whole community.

It’s a clear, practical website built to support a nonprofit’s everyday work.
